Drew + Britney | An Intimate Backyard Wedding

Yesterday I had the privilege to photograph my first backyard wedding! Drew and Britney had to postpone their wedding celebration almost a year and a half, but they wanted to be husband and wife earlier than that. The solution? An intimate wedding at Drew’s parents’ house in Howard County Maryland. This house holds a special place in their relationship because Brit and Drew used to live in the basement. Now, this home has an even bigger role in their story!

After their engagement session last summer, I knew their wedding would be elegantly decorated. Even when the plan changed, I was confident that Britney’s taste would make an intimate ceremony feel like a classy affair. Wow was I right! I am blown away at what a gorgeous setting these two created for their family and friends. You would never know that this event wasn’t hosted at an official wedding venue. From pink florals to perfectly mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses, every detail of this wedding was beautifully thought through.

Drew and Britney first met in a geography class in college. Britney may or may not have had a little crush and made sure that she sat next to him. However, they lost touch. Then, a few years later, they reconnected on Tinder. Two people swiped right and it was a match! Drew was down at Coastal Carolina at the time, but that didn’t stop Britney from getting down to see him right away. From Tinder to Tomlin!

The best part about all of this? We get to have another Tomlin wedding next year! Drew and Britney are having a larger wedding celebration next September at Anchor Inn. They will celebrate their love surrounded by even more loved ones! For now, here’s to the new Mr. and Mrs. Tomlin!
