Jessie + Jim | A Summer Wedding in Harpers Ferry at The Barns at Maple Valley Farm

After lots of planning, and replanning (welcome to 2020!), Jessie and Jim got married on Saturday in Harpers Ferry surrounded by their loved ones, plus some horses! The Barns at Maple Valley provided the perfect backdrop for their nuptials and helped make Jessie’s summer wedding dreams come true. There are a lot of reasons that emotions were flowing like a river, but the moment that I think is burned into all of our memories was Jessie walking down the aisle wearing her father’s jacket. Every wedding I shoot through tears at least once, but this one it felt like that was all I did! I love a job that allows me a front row seat into the happiest, most special moments in peoples’ lives. I get to witness true love, lifelong friendships, parents’ pride, and all the raw emotions that come with a wedding. It is such a privilege!

“I promise to treat your classroom like an extension of our family.”

These are some of the words Jim said to Jessie in his vows. Jessie brings out the soft side of him. He can be strong and tough when he needs to be (I mean he literally saves lives for a living!), but everyone saw his tender and caring heart when he met Jessie. Now is a full blown husband and cat dad! Jessie handles dating, and now being married to a firefighter with grace. She is a middle school teacher who loves teaching tweens all things Earth Science. The size of the hearts on these two could fill an entire barn…and they basically did! Their loved ones filled up the reception and overflowed out onto the yard with how much they care for these two!

I cannot thank the new Mr. and Mrs. Wendt enough for letting me be part of their wedding day! I wish you both the best in your marriage and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things y’all do together.

This wonderful team made their day completely perfect!
