Love is in the air!! On Saturday I got to photograph Kyle surprise his girlfriend as he popped the question. Spoiler alert: she said YES!!
I met up with Kyle on Friday for a little planning time where he showed me exactly where he wanted to propose. He had been wanting to ask her to marry him since January so this man was ready y’all. COVID-19 delayed the ring (which is gorgeous by the way, keep on scrolling to see!!), but he got it last week so it was time to pull the trigger. The plan was for me to sit on a bench and when they passed me, I would get up, follow them, and then photograph the big moment!! I was hiding in plain sight. So as I see them walking down, I prepare my gear and am ready to go. Of course, I have to play it cool as they walk by me and Kyle deserves an Oscar for is performance when he passed me. Their little pup, Winston, started barking like crazy…I think he knew something special was coming!
They walked by, Emily had no idea what was about to happen, and I stalked them for about a hundred yards before Kyle got down on one knee! Emil was completely surprised! A casual walk around Fort McHenry turned into the biggest day of her life so far! Of course she said yes and couldn’t help but hug and kiss her fiancé. Kyle told her I was there and then we all kept on walking as I took some ‘just engaged’ portraits of the two of them. It was an insanely special day! Who would have thought that a guy falling for the cute yoga instructor 2 and a half years ago would turn into this…
I cannot stop smiling, so happy for both of you, and looking forward to many more smiles and memories of the walk before you.
